I’ve added two new books to the mandatory reading list.
First, Economics In One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt.
This book is a short and easy to understand primer on the basics of a free economic system. Without a firm knowledge of these basics it’s easy to fall prey to economic fallacies that have plagued our system like the minimum wage or tariffs.
Second, A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn.
Mr. Zinn is much attacked for his seemingly socialist/communist views but that doesn’t change the facts of history. Though presented from a socialist perspective Mr. Zinn gives a need to know history of the true history of America including all the false war, suppression of the constitution, exploitation of the people and tarnish on the honor of this nation that a school text book would never dare reveal.
